Lens Cap Size for Canon SX10IS

I have previously written about the poor quality lens cap that comes with the Canon Powershot SX10IS Camera. I promptly lost that one, and then another one that we had around that fit.

There is nowhere in the specifications that it tells what size lens cap fits that camera! Measuring was inconclusive... where exactly does one measure? Outside the lens rim? Inside the lens rim? Pretty hard to order a cap without knowing the size, and we have no camera shop in our town any more...

My husband ransacked his camera bag and we found a cap that fits. It also stays on well. And, it is labeled! The size lens cap that fits the Canon Powershot SX10IS is a 52mm cap.

Hi DH- Thanks for letting me know. This is turning out to be one of my most popular posts! Canon really goofed on this one.

Thank you!! I lost mine too. I ordered one from Amazon that kept saying it was the one I needed, but it was the wrong one. I couldn't find any information on the Canon website.

Thank you so much for this information. I too have a Powershot SX10 IS and my husband just lost the lens cover while taking pictures at his sister's graduation. I looked high and low for a replacement cover. I didn't realize that there were so many different sizes of lenses. Needless to say, I was a bit overwhelmed! As my last-ditch effort to find a cover, I came across your blog. I just ordered this lens on Amazon and should receive it in a couple days! I hope it fits! Thank you!

Thank you very much for sharing! For the first time in 3-4 years of having the SX10 I've lost the cap. Never put the cap in the same pocket with gloves! Especially in the mountains, in snow...
